Porta das Mãos
Michel Groisman
Porta das Mãos, the Brazilian artist’s second appearance at this year’s Biennale, is a meditative piece on movement. With two fingers on his left hand permanently connected to two fingers on his right hand, Groisman operates under the regime of this imposed figure, exploring all possibilities of form and envisaging a myriad of artistic gestures. This allows him to create a kaleidoscopic series of constantly changing forms. In the image of this performance, Groisman’s art evolves along a fine line which continually threatens to break but never quite reaches that fragile point of rupture.
