Soirée composée
In such an ephemeral art form as dance, the question of transmission is particularly pertinent. This one-off evening combines three shows which tackle the theme of memory from differing points of view. In Corps de Ballet, Dorothée Thébert brings Pascal Gravat to the stage as he blends his own “choreographic biography” with the story of a former ballet dancer who is now running a café. Ci-Giselles, created by Grandville for the Ballet de Marseille, explores the current issues found in great romantic ballet. Lastly in a homage which derives its power from the tension between the original and its reconstruction, Fabián Barba reproduces nine solos by the legendary expressionist dancer Mary Wigman. Three ways of looking at the past in order to ask questions of the present.
