Charleroi/Danses joins forces with the 23rd Europalia International.
This year, Europalia - a festival whose aim is to encourage the discovery of a country through its artistic practices - has chosen to focus on Brazil: a country with a vast dance culture drawn from the medley of peoples who form its population, but a resolutely forward-looking country as well. It therefore seemed completely natural for Charleroi/Danses to include a Brazilian element in its 2011 Biennale, including artists on the bill who all take an innovative, but long, engaged at the practice of dance. To reinforce its commitment, Charleroi/Danses was very keen to co-produce Lia Rodrigues' latest creation.
