Idill International Dance Online Short Film Festival

Distribution | Practical information

Eager to encourage cinematic creation focusing on dance and movement, last May Charleroi/Danses joined forces with La Gaîté Lyrique - a new venue in Paris dedicated to digital culture - and the prestigious Sadler's Wells in London. Together this mighty triumvirate launched the first Idill competition for short films of dance and movements which generated a fantastic response in next to no time. Backed by Arte France, the call for submissions brought in proposals from all over the world with a wide range of approaches, sensibilities and treatments reflecting the diversity of our world with a sense of fun and energy. This first competition will culminate in a gala evening at which five prizes will be awarded to winners selected by a jury of professionals from the dance and audiovisual sector. Their films will be given a public screening during the evening too. We will also have the good fortune to enjoy a selection from this first crop of films at the Raffinerie throughout that same week.
