Superman, Batman, WonderWoman and their “super” friends have all gathered for a “musical comedy postponed” which promises to make us laugh at the characteristically biting wit of choreographer Maria Clara Villa Lobos. Having constructed a “tetralogy of excessiveness”, to which also belong the pieces 'M' and 'une pièce moyenne', presented at the 'Pays de Danses' Festival, Villa Lobos perseveres along the vein of contemporary dance that is direct, happy and critical, anchored in reality. Based on the imagery of efficiency and power that the super heroes inspire, the young artist formulates a clear critique of society, against a background of appealing pop music by Hank Harry from Liege. Maria Clara wants to confront myth with reality, by humanising and highlighting the weakness and vulnerability of super heroes. In this SUPER! world, with its worship of SUPER! stars, its economic SUPER! powers, its pursuit of the SUPER! atomic bomb, its obsession with SUPER! bodies... let's get excited about this SUPER! show in the making!
